The Wicklow escape – Ireland’s foodie destination escape is looking for a creative head cook.
Full time 5 days a week position – 1 day prep – 4 days service.
Opportunity for a creative head cook to live and work in Irelands best up and coming foodie venue – The Wicklow escape. We are surrounded by producers and have an acre of kitchen gardens to supply amazing produce.
We are blessed to be surrounded by amazing producers. Within a hare’s breath, we have Ridgeway Wagyu across the road, Castleruddery organic farm, Ballyhubbock Farm (Sheep produce), Mackay’s organic Lamb, Dunlavin Organic Dairy, Hells Kettle Farm, Graces’ eggs and more.
After 4 years and great reviews, we have decided to dedicate our offerings to an all-inclusive foodie experience. Service includes 5-course long table dining and 3-course wood-fired fare at The Fiery an outdoor kitchen with smokery, Argentinian style BBQ and wood-fired oven.
We are looking for an experienced cook who wants to make their mark in a foodies paradise. We will be open for 4 days a week and accommodation is provided at the beautiful venue. Immersed in nature, food produce and fresh air.
The successful applicant will have:
- A creative passion for food
- A Sustainability and seasonal ethos
- Experience in a busy kitchen with service of at least 25 covers
- Demonstrate zero food waste ethics
- Be ready to move to the West Wicklow mountains
- Be a team player and help drive the business into the next decade.
References and a food tasting required for the successful applicant.
