Think small for your big day

Posted in News on 20th July 2020

As Princess Beatrice showed, when it comes to getting married in 2020, even the British
Royal Family has to think small these days. So just because you might not be able to invite
everyone you hoped to your big day, remember with a little imagination and willingness to compromise, it can still be something really special.

In the current climate, friends and family are sure to understand about guest numbers, so try not to stress too much about who can and can’t come.

A little goes a long way

And while not an issue for Beatrice or most Royal weddings, one positive of having a smaller
wedding is that it will allow your budget to stretch that little bit further. At The elbowroom escape, couples can choose from an indoor ceremony in our music hall, on our
mountain deck overlooking the stunning Wicklow mountain scenery or even close to nature within our landscaped gardens or anywhere in the miles of the surrounding forest.

Key points for weddings in 2020
1.     Venue versatility is key – somewhere, where both the ceremony and reception
can take place will limit the amount of travelling between venues for your guests.
2.     The great outdoors – A venue that allows you to have the ceremony and guests
to mingle outdoors could be a real bonus
3.     A mid-week wedding means more venue options if you’ve had to change the
date
5.     Table plans – Keep members of the same household at the one table

Check out our wedding page for more information about what we have to offer you on your big day. Book a pre-wedding stay to explore our venue, discuss menus or ask any of the questions you may have, if subsequently book your wedding with us we will refund your stay.
