Yoga teachers make space and time to nurture, support and encourage their students. However, working in isolation, filling classes and family life pressures leave little time to recharge. Though it’s sometimes hard to admit it yoga teachers need a little TLC too!
But WHAT can a yoga teacher do to ensure their own well of good health is brimming full?
The elbowroom escape has created something special to take care of your energy needs and ignite your passion for yoga (while taking a well-deserved break from your students). This escape is a place to discuss the business of yoga and find solutions to common challenges. You may even view your own yoga practice in a completely new way.
Refill your resources and enjoy a yoga schedule designed for teachers to reconnect with yoga. There will be scrummy food, hot tubs, belly laughs, mischief and more…. Then curl up in what are reported to be the most comfortable beds on this island!
Wake up with a light nibble, then self-practice your heart out before a brazen brunch.
Be Inspired with Greg Walsh

Reignite with Lisa
Enjoy an after dinner session with Lisa where she will spill the bean on the blood sweat and tears of thriving in the business of yoga. 15 years of running a yoga business, along with another 20 working in marketing and product management, has (finally!) resulted in a successful enterprise. Lisa is happy to spill the beans.
Rewind with Lisa
This will be followed later in the day with a restorative and nidra session by The elbowroom’s own Lisa Wilkinson.
Our cafe will supply your delicious meals with food grown locally at Castleruddery Organic Farm and we will end the day with hot tub soaks and optional tipples from Lisa’s legendary Gin Bar.

Team
Greg Walsh

I was introduced to yoga in my mid 20's whilst travelling in Nepal. I didn't think it would be for me, but in fact I really took to it straight away. I initially practiced Satyananda yoga, but on my return to Dublin I was introduced to Iyengar yoga. Its strong physical challenge, focus on strong body awareness and attention to detail appealed to me immediately. I had found my yoga style!
I was awarded my Introductory Iyengar Teacher Training Certificate in 2002 after 2 years of intensive teacher training. In April 2005 I was awarded my Intermediate Level 1 Iyengar Training Certificate, in May 2006 I received my Intermediate Level 2 and in March 2016 I received my Intermediate Level 3 Certificate. I have trained with many Senior Iyengar teachers, and continue to train; I am committed to ongoing studies for the foreseeable future.
For me, yoga goes beyond the physical practice. I see it as a tool for transformation: physical transformation, and also inner transformation. I attempt to bring to my yoga classes an awareness of the deeper reasons for practicing yoga, to overcome physical and mental blockages, and to become more alive, awake and aware in everything we do, in yoga practice and in life.

Lisa Wilkinson

Lisa is queenbee of The elbowroom in Dublin and The elbowroom escape in Wicklow. She is the proverbial Duracell Bunny, teacher, potter, gardener, baker, health enthusiast and passionate foodie. But first and foremost, proud mother to two fabulous children.
The elbowroom escape is also Lisa's home and she can be often spotted knee-deep in some kind of muck, hosting retreats, writing or brewing a variety of concoctions in her cabin.
She built her pottery studio after studying in Dublin and has been focusing on throwing the tableware for the kitchens and guests at The escape.
