Team

Niall McSharry

Niall has over 15 years’ experience working in the restaurant industry.
Starting his career at Rathmullan House, Donegal, he learned the core values of the trade andwas inspired by the fresh vegetables from the kitchen garden and the locally sourced fish & game. This, coupled with the family friendly service, has stayed with him throughout his career. As head chef of Ardtara House, Chef Niall McSharry honed in his skills in fine dining.

Niall subsequently worked at the River Café, London, which he says is an experience whichshowed him how to “cook” from breaking down lamb legs to filleting wild seabass and making fresh pasta. The techniques he learned then are still inspiring his cooking 10 years later.

Combining a love of travel with a love of cooking, his career subsequently took him to work on private yachts across the globe. Taking him completely out of his comfort zone, he learned a variety of new dishes and techniques within an entirely new environment.
